Ready to lead projects that shape Edmonton’s water infrastructure? EPCOR Water Services is hiring a Senior Manager, Project Management – Linear Infrastructure to join our Project Management team. This full-time, permanent role is based at the historic Rossdale Water Treatment Plant in Edmonton, AB.
As a key leader, you’ll oversee capital upgrades on critical linear infrastructure—storm and sanitary collection systems, and everything upstream of wastewater treatment and downstream of water treatment plants. You’ll champion excellence through a robust project management framework, delivering high-quality, value-driven outcomes aligned with EPCOR’s vision.

What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Director, Project Management, you will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of capital projects while driving operational excellence and team performance. Key responsibilities include:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute project delivery strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Translate functional strategy into actionable 1–2 year plans, including capital planning and prioritization.
- Anticipate long-term challenges and opportunities, ensuring integration with broader business plans.
- Define resource and budget requirements and monitor execution against objectives.
Operational Excellence
- Stay current on technologies and project management best practices.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives and transformational opportunities.
- Lead change management efforts to ensure engagement and mitigate risk.
Project Delivery
- Oversee multiple linear infrastructure projects, ranging from thousands to tens of millions of dollars.
- Ensure alignment of activities, resolve issues, and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Monitor performance metrics, report progress, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure projects meet EPCOR’s engineering, safety, and sourcing standards.
Team Leadership
- Build and lead high-performing teams through hiring, engagement, and development.
- Set clear performance objectives, provide coaching, and hold team members accountable.
- Identify capability gaps and prioritize development to strengthen succession pipelines.
Collaboration & Relationships
- Foster strong cross-functional relationships to share information and develop solutions.
- Consult with stakeholders to build understanding and alignment on issues and opportunities.
- Collaborate across functions to integrate business plans and provide technical expertise for decision-making.
Risk & Delivery Strategy
- Ensure Project Management strategy aligns with Water Services and broader business objectives.
- Develop procurement strategies that consider risk, stakeholders, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and mitigate project risks through robust control mechanisms in partnership with Project Controls.
What You Bring
Education & Credentials
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering from a recognized institution.
Candidates with an Engineering Technology diploma or significant project management leadership experience will be considered. - PMP and P.Eng. designations are preferred.
Experience
- 10+ years of project management experience, including alternative delivery models (progressive design-build, design-build, CMAR, alliance/partnering).
- 5+ years of experience leading teams or managing other project management professionals.
- Strong knowledge of engineering design and construction for water and wastewater distribution and collection systems.
- Expertise in project management best practices, particularly contracting and execution strategies.
- Familiarity with project controls and document management tools and processes.
